Not a Bigger House, just a Better one...

I set out this weekend to create a room just for Elizabeth. So, the space I started with was the other half of this room. You may find this hard to believe, but this room is much nicer than it was when I first moved in! I painted this a year ago but it still need ceiling boards put on. This is our back entrance. The boxy thing you see is the furnace and furnace fan. Our coats are hanging on the wall.
It took me one day to clear the other half of the room and clean it. It took me one more day to paint. Then, Heidi came over and helped me move furniture around. I framed in the interior wall, painted it "lavender rose" which is light purple to most of us, and here is what you get:
This is my Ellie ready for bed the first night in her own room. She slept very very well, from 8 pm until 7:30 am !
We may have a little house. We may even have a very imperfect house, but guess what? It's ours and I am really happy I thought of this idea.
The boys room is next on my list for a makeover. Hmm. I was thinking, red and blue stripes on the walls....

Gee, it must have taken you a really long time to get all that furnature moved into that room. Did your brother help you??? Did your father????? Hope you didn't lift too much heavy stuff.

Must paint ceiling, window doesn't look as bad in picture context

No, no help from brother or father on that. Heidi helped move furniture. Window looks better than I first thought, Miss Anonymous... ....I was going to paint pink polka dots on it today but on second thought, figured that would be over-done in the end.

Nice!! Ellie's room look like a typical American room. :)

I'm not sure about that, whether is a typical looking room or not....I do know it is the first time she has had her own space and she is really happy with it! The poster's on the wall do seem typically american I guess. I was amazed at what a wonder good PAINT can do for a space.

I'm sure "your Elizabeth" appreciates her space as much as "mine!"
you did a great job! painting and colors aren't my strong suit but i can appreciate a job well done!! i think the stripes for the boys sounds very patriotic!! :)
